So I don’t have any new tattoos to post since I have not been working the past few weeks while I’m trying to get the new studio ready… The construction guys say we’re looking at April 2nd for our date of completion, which is good news! We’ll see how that goes though since there are unforeseen problems that could arise. You know, Murphy’s Law and such… It’s coming along great though. Electrical stuff this week… Then Drywall… Then flooring… Then molding… Then painting… Then who knows, hahaha. I’m excited for sure, but I am definitely getting anxious. I need to work! I might take a few appointments over at my buddy Chris’ shop POWER TATTOO just to keep my sanity! I’ll keep you posted if and when I do.
Anyway I did get some time to paint since I’ve been off… Here’s a 9×12 watercolor I did for a trade with Robert Goodkind. You may have seen it if you follow my instagram but if not I did this skellie in a coffin with some roses and banners that read “Only a Fool Fears the Grave”… I did put a Square and Compass on the coffin because the quote and the Lights have a good meaning together. I don’t have a scan of the painting that I got in the trade, but Rob has one on his website! You should check it out HERE. While you’re there, take a look at his tattoos as well! That guy is amazing!
Speaking of amazing, anybody watching InkMaster? That shit is hilarious! I can’t believe how uneven the competitions are, though! I wish I was a judge on that show, I would have a fucking field day! I love Oliver Peck and respect the shit out of his work and work ethic… Nunez I don’t really have an opinion on anymore… But Dave Navarro!?!? Really!?!? Listening to him try to give technical critiques makes my stomach wretch. I understand being an observer and throwing in an opinion about what you like, as an observer… But getting tech critiques from someone who doesn’t tattoo would drive me crazy! I’m surprised Peck doesn’t strangle that tranny! Nonetheless, I watch it, haha. What can I say? I like looking at tattoos. The other tattoo shows are all drama drama drama… And though, this show, like all reality tv shows is all edited and partially scripted and probably planned out who is going to win ahead of time, it does show tattooers tattooing and their struggle with different styles.
Anyway, that’s it for now. Check back in a week or so since I will be putting new paintings up that I have been working on with all my new found time off. I’ve got about 3 or 4 new ones on the way!
