yeah sorry about not really updating anything in a few days… it’s been a jet-lagged, right back to work kind of show here in PA… though i am mainly working on pieces i started last time i was out here, i have been really tired and my back has been killing me and blah blah blah… here are some shots from the road, from the snow, and some work thus far…

airports are so rad looking sometimes… this is in Milan right before the flight back to the states…

an artsy shot i took of my arm with the artist bracelet they gave us…

2010-02-16 12.55.26

the meal on the flight home… some weird kind of pasta dish (not very good at all) some veggies with some sort of italian cole slaw (actually pretty yummy) fruit, crackers and cheese, a roll, and my favorite… ginger ale…

2010-02-16 17.15.30

so in PA…. there’s just a bit of snow, hahaha… i guess when we left for italy they got DUMPED with a shit-ton of snow… and i am not sure of you know this but that is more than a metric ton… also, right when we flew back there was a bit more snow… we landed at JFK and it was snowing pretty bad… i liked it…

here’s a close up of a monster Scott Bramble i did on a shin… he is holding the heads of two of his rivals, but still calm enough to have a scotch and a cigar… haha this one was a lot of fun… look for the full detail shot in the galleries after i get back to California…

the color looks a bit off on this one in this photo. but this is that MUERTE piece i started the last time i was out here… some of you may have seen it on my MYSPACE when it was just black and grey… well, here it is all colored up! the face is an opaque grey but the lights in there made the pic come out a bit hazy and flatter than it is in real life… again, i took better shots that will be in the TATTOO gallery when i get home…

i also tattooed a few other people but one was a really big back piece that i will get shots of when it is closer to completion and there was one on the back of the calf that i just forgot to get a pic of with the small camera… also i worked on Scott Bramble last night… forgot to get a picture of it but i will take one today… we’re heading out to some gnarly antique store/barn/thing… so i plan on buying some goodies and will also get a good shot of his arm in natural light for you…

good to have a few days off… one more day of work in PA and then i go home to one day off and then back to work on my own clients, haha… man… even though i travel all over the place… when do i get a vacation?

it’s hard to grasp the enormity of this cemetery… it is so big that Scott and i even split up to see as much as we could and we didn’t even cover half of it and we were there for hours… not to mention how huge some of these sculptures are… this last picture of the woman in bed sleeping is probably about 20 feet long and the image behind her about 12 to 15 feet high… it’s really a sight to be seen… i took some better pics with my other digital that are better i just haven’t compressed them yet… they are on my facebook, though… if you aren’t friends with me on facebook you can click the widget on the side and it will take you there… or just wait till i mess with them and i will post some on here again… i think i might go back with my SLR and get some really good shots after the convention…

Milan!!!!

so yep, i am in Milan… the convention doesn’t start until the day after tomorrow so today, tired as i was, i powered through and went to the Duomo and all kinds of shit to keep myself awake! here are some pics from the indoe of the Duomo and we took the lift to the roof where we got some pretty sweet pics as well. i am gonna start with a few random pics from my trip from CA to PA and a few off all the snow in PA til current… more to come tomorrow!

DSCN0121

a pretty funny statue of George H. W. Bush at the Houston airport that has him looking all on the go and like superman and shit, haha… he’s holding a book that reads “winds of change” on it, which of course, had me whistling Scorpions the rest of the freakin’ day, hahahaha

DSCN0127

some of the snow in PA at Scott’s house… of course, as i write this, they are getting their asses pounded by even more snow… we literally left like an hour before the storm hit again so when i get back to PA there’s no telling what it’s gonna look like then…

DSCN0135

Scott, tooling around with his iPhone…

DSCN0134

yours truly…

DSCN0149

here is a castle that we walked through on our way to the Duomo… i can’t remember what the deal was with it other than it was just a castle from a rich family in Milan… but i thought this pic was pretty rad so i should share it…

DSCN0151

imagine just walking down the street and coming up on this… it’s nuts man… this is the Duomo.

DSCN0166

parco dio!

DSCN0168

one of the many altars….

DSCN0177

a giant cast iron candelabra…

DSCN0185

the tomb of a saint…

DSCN0186

not sure what this room is, we couldn’t go in… but it sure as hell looks sweet…

DSCN0193

another altar in the Duomo…

DSCN0205

one of the insane reliefs on the doors of the Duomo…

DSCN0211

architectural shot from the roof of the Duomo…

DSCN0220

a statue on the roof of the Duomo… you probably wouldn’t even see this guy unless you were up there…

that’s all i am gonna show for now… i took some other pretty awesome pics but they are more reference for me and my drawings later so either you wouldn’t necessarily think they were that cool or you’re an artist and i don’t want you to steal the same reference i have, hahaha… sorry.

stay tuned, i still have today to dick around before the convention starts tomorrow… and of course there will be pictures from the convention and then a few days of stuff after the convention before i head back to PA… thanks for looking!

this week in tattooing….

here’s a few snaps from the past week… i had a lot to do getting prints and stickers and buttons ready for my trip to Milan for the convention… i probably should have posted this earlier, yeah? i will be gone from the 7th to the 24th of February… not all of that trip will be Italy, though… i will be in Milan, Italy from the 9th to to 16th and then will be doing a guest spot at Mercury Studio in Glenside, PA you can click HERE to go see the fantastic works by Scott Bramble… seriously man, that guy is EPIC! here’s the pics i told you about…

2010-01-29 13.00.59

here’s the color on that traditional piece i showed you a few weeks back… i had a lot of fun doing this one… i rarely get asked to do traditional pieces so when this one came through i knew i had to do it… it’s based on a Sailor Jerry design but i did a few things to make it my style…

2010-01-30 20.56.23

here’s a close-up of a dragon half sleever i started a while back… this was the first color session. one more should finish it up… it’s pretty sweet as a whole but because it’s not done i decided not to show the whole thing… you’ll see more in a month or so after i get back…

2010-01-31 18.22.13

this is a close-up of the lower section from that zombie virgin mary sleeve i posted a while back… just one more session of black and gray on this one and we’ll be starting color… we might even finish the shading and start color in the same session next time… that’s what i would prefer… crap, i forgot we’re adding stuff to the top of the shoulder… so maybe there’s only one more full session of shading like i said… then we can start color… either way i am excited to see this one moving fast and ready for color!

2010-02-01 14.15.12

this is a close-up of a piece i worked on today… i started this 3/4 sleeve a few years ago but he moved up to SF shortly after and i didn’t get to see him for a while… there’s way more to it but you know me… i won’t give any of it away until the whole thing is done, haha… this is from the lower section of the sleever which is a lotus and water. you can also see part of the blade… that’s right, the BLADE… that should get your gears going… i will be working on this again when i get back from my trip so i guess you’ll have to wait and see…

my second appointment of the day was the zombie pin-up girls i posted a while back… everything was going fine until the last hour of the appointment when the power went out… yep… no power… pitch black… hahahaha… turns out it was the whole block and like 4 other blocks as well… so needless to say i have no pics of it and will have to finish the rest when i get back… sucks but there was no other option… as it was i had to wrap her up by candle light… good thing i have candles and such in my studio…

l_ca2544238ad14bcbbfd18b3bbe734a1e

this is the poster for the Milan tattoo convention painted by the one and only Kevin LeBlanc… fucking epic!

as i said earlier i had some stickers made and prints are being made and buttons are made and packaged and everything is almost ready to go… if you want any of that swag you better come by the shop or see me at a convention to get some! the prints will be fore sale in the studio and on this site once i get them and get some good pictures taken of them… they’re pretty sweet!

anyway, off to upload some pics from my good camera so i can do some new pics in the actual galleries and for an interview i am working on… i’ll let you know when it’s coming out, and in what mag… or mags… might have another one lined up soon… also have some other good goodies i am working on as well but i will let you know more about those as they become more solid…
